Microsoft have announced some important changes that may affect your nonprofit’s licensing.
The Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Office 365 E1 grants (free licences) will be discontinued starting July 1, 2025. These changes apply only to free grant licences — paid licences are not affected.
What this means:
- Your 10 x free Business Premium or Office 365 E1 licences will expire on your next renewal date after July 1, 2025.
- This means that if you do have 10 x free Business Premium licences, these will move to paid Business Premium (£4.20 per user per month) x 10 seats on your next renewal
- Microsoft will continue to offer:
- Up to 300 free Microsoft 365 Business Basic licences
- Discounts of up to 75% on Business Premium and other Microsoft 365 licences
- Up to 2,000 free Office 365 E1 licences via Enterprise Agreement
- You will receive reminders 30, 60, and 90 days before any changes take effect.
- Data will remain accessible for 90 days after licence expiration (if you choose not to move these free licences to paid)
